To enhance the capacities, particularly of women in rural communities towards betterment of their health and socioeconomic status;

 •      Initiate and support community income-generation through skills training and self-employment activities;

 •      Enable members of the rural communities to identify local concerns and collectively seek locally appropriate solutions;

          To support rural community activities for the protection and management of coastal ecosystems;

 •      Support the sharing of experiences learnt from community-based initiatives to promote mutual learning among village communities;

       To provide educational facilities for rural children.

                       Future Plans

1.During the coming year, a training centre with audio-visual facilities, residential facilities with a dining hall, for training purposes for women and children is being proposed to be built on the farm. 

2. To standardise Spirulina production by setting up a laboratory facility and also cultivation facilities in the farm.

3. To provide women and children weekend training programmes in environment and to familiarise them with herbal medicines.  The environment programme and herbal programme will have theoretical classes on the first day and the second day would be spent in the villages during which women and children will involve themselves in setting up a herbal garden and planting trees themselves.

As a     small rural-based Organisation supporting village people in their struggles for social equality, empowerment and strengthening of local livelihoods, 

ANAWIM is continually seeking collaboration and exchange with interested people and organisations.  Collaboration with ANAWIM can be both in terms of ideas and concepts for promoting rural development and self-sustenance, as well as development initiatives such as appropriate technologies.
